The inspiration for my work comes mostly from French Impressionism. I like the look of loose brush strokes creating just enough detail to sum up the characteristics of the subject. The theme of my latest work has been night life. I really enjoy creating festive night club and social scenes. The fantasy and drama involved provides inspiration for the exaggerated figures and vivid colors. I am often asked why the people are faceless in my work? The lack of facial expression allows the viewer to pay more attention to the body language and gesture of the subject. I've found that the viewer is compelled to fill in the blanks for themselves with their own imagination and experiences.
